Kirby’s Dream Land 2 brings Nintendo’s pink puffball back to the original Game Boy in one of the most beloved handheld adventures of the '90s. Released in 1995, this classic platformer builds on the simple charm of the original Kirby’s Dream Land and introduces a range of new features, including animal companions, copy abilities, and expanded worlds—all within the limitations of the monochrome Game Boy display.
In this sequel, Kirby must travel across seven colorful islands to recover the Rainbow Bridges that connect Dream Land, each guarded by one of King Dedede’s henchmen. Along the way, Kirby gains access to his now-iconic copy ability, allowing him to absorb powers from enemies. He’s also joined by three helpful friends—Rick the hamster, Kine the fish, and Coo the owl—each of whom alters how Kirby’s powers work and helps him access otherwise unreachable areas.
With creative level design, multiple endings, and tight gameplay, Kirby’s Dream Land 2 delivers a surprisingly deep experience for a Game Boy title.
