LostMagic for Nintendo DS is a real-time strategy RPG that blends fast-paced tactical combat with a unique spell-casting system that uses the touchscreen in creative and challenging ways. Developed by Taito and published by Ubisoft, it offers a fresh take on the fantasy RPG genre by putting you in command of magical forces rather than relying on traditional turn-based mechanics.
You play as Isaac, a young mage tasked with restoring balance to the world by mastering the lost runes of magic. As you journey across a fantasy land filled with elemental creatures, rival mages, and powerful relics, you’ll build your strength by learning new spells and summoning monsters to fight by your side.
The heart of the gameplay lies in its rune-drawing system: spells are cast by quickly drawing specific symbols on the DS touchscreen. With over 350 possible spell combinations based on six elements, combat becomes a mix of reflex, strategy, and experimentation. Whether launching fireballs, healing allies, or summoning golems, your ability to draw accurately and quickly directly affects the outcome of battle.
In addition to the single-player campaign, LostMagic features robust Wi-Fi multiplayer, allowing you to duel other players and test your tactical skills online. Creature management also plays a key role—you’ll capture, level up, and command an army of monsters, each with its own strengths and elemental affinities.
