Description
Lost Planet 3 for the PlayStation 3 is a third-person sci-fi action game that takes players back to the frozen planet E.D.N. III years before the events of the original Lost Planet. Play as Jim Peyton, a utility rig pilot who accepts a dangerous contract with the NEVEC corporation to support his family back on Earth. What begins as a job harvesting the planet's valuable Thermal Energy soon leads Jim into a mystery involving NEVEC, the planet's history, and its hostile native creatures known as the Akrid.
Explore frozen landscapes, caves, abandoned facilities, and remote outposts while battling Akrid using firearms and specialized equipment. Jim's massive Utility Rig plays an important role throughout the adventure, helping him traverse dangerous environments, perform industrial tasks, and confront enormous creatures in close-quarters encounters. Outside the rig, combat combines shooting, dodging, and targeting vulnerable areas on different Akrid species.
Developed by Spark Unlimited and published by Capcom in 2013, Lost Planet 3 places a greater emphasis on narrative, exploration, and survival than earlier entries while retaining the series' signature frozen setting and large alien creatures.
