Description
Description
Magic: The Gathering - Battlegrounds - Xbox transforms the strategy of the Magic: The Gathering trading card game into a real-time action experience. Players control powerful spellcasters in arena battles, using creatures, enchantments, and magical attacks inspired by the tabletop game while moving freely around the battlefield and reacting directly to an opponent’s strategy.
Gameplay revolves around collecting mana and spending it to summon creatures or cast spells associated with Magic’s different colors. Each color offers its own play style, encouraging players to build strategies around aggressive attacks, defensive creatures, direct damage, or other magical effects. Battles take place in real time rather than through traditional card turns, creating a faster and more action-focused interpretation of Magic. The game includes a single-player campaign as well as head-to-head multiplayer modes.
Developed by Secret Level and published by Atari in 2003, Magic: The Gathering - Battlegrounds offers a distinctive take on the long-running fantasy card game. Its combination of familiar Magic spells and creatures, arena combat, mana management, and competitive strategy makes it an interesting choice for Magic fans and original Xbox collectors.
