Mario Party 8 - Wii is a party game that brings Mario, Luigi, Peach, Yoshi, Wario, and other familiar characters together for board-game competition and a large collection of mini-games. Players travel around themed boards, collect coins, purchase Stars, and compete to finish with the highest total while dealing with events, items, and changing board conditions.
Gameplay supports up to four players locally and makes extensive use of the Wii Remote for motion-controlled mini-games involving pointing, shaking, tilting, and other gestures. The game includes more than 70 mini-games covering racing, timing, memory, action, and luck-based challenges. In addition to traditional Party Mode, players can compete through Star Battle Arena and access dedicated mini-game modes for shorter sessions.
Developed by Hudson Soft and published by Nintendo in 2007, Mario Party 8 was the first entry in the series released for Wii. Its colorful boards, large character roster, motion-controlled mini-games, and strong focus on local multiplayer make it an appealing choice for Mario fans, family gaming, and Nintendo Wii collectors.
