Mega Man X7 - PlayStation 2
Mega Man X7 for PlayStation 2 brings the long-running action-platformer series into 3D for the first time, mixing classic side-scrolling stages with new third-person gameplay. Players can switch between series veterans X and Zero, along with new character Axl, who introduces a unique copy ability that lets him transform into defeated enemies. Together, the trio battles through challenging stages filled with Mavericks, traps, and massive bosses as they try to bring peace back to a world under siege.
The game allows players to swap characters mid-level, combining different fighting styles such as X’s long-range buster shots, Zero’s devastating close-range sword techniques, and Axl’s rapid-fire pistols with transformation powers. Levels alternate between 2D and 3D perspectives, offering variety and a fresh approach to the series’ traditional formula. Unlockables, upgrades, and the trademark difficulty of the Mega Man X series remain central to the experience. While it marked a new direction for the franchise, Mega Man X7 on PS2 continues the series’ legacy of fast-paced action, memorable characters, and intense battles against Maverick bosses.
