Metal Gear Acid - PSP is a turn-based tactical strategy game that reimagines the Metal Gear series around a collectible card system. Players take control of Solid Snake as he becomes involved in a mission connected to a hijacked passenger aircraft and a mysterious research facility, leading to a new story filled with espionage, conspiracies, and familiar Metal Gear themes.
Gameplay replaces the series’ traditional real-time stealth with grid-based movement and card-driven actions. Cards represent weapons, equipment, movement, defensive abilities, and other tactical options, requiring players to build effective decks and carefully plan each turn. Positioning, line of sight, enemy patrol routes, and action costs all play important roles, while recognizable weapons and references from earlier Metal Gear games appear throughout the card collection.
Developed by Konami Computer Entertainment Japan and published by Konami, Metal Gear Acid was released for PSP in North America in 2005.
