NBA Courtside 2002 - GameCube brings professional basketball action to the Nintendo GameCube with licensed NBA teams, players, arenas, and statistics from its era. Built around a mix of accessible controls and simulation-style basketball, the game lets players take control of their favorite teams and compete through fast-paced matchups featuring recognizable stars from the early 2000s NBA.
Players can hit the court in exhibition games, work through a full season, compete in the playoffs, and practice their skills before taking on tougher opponents. Gameplay includes passing, shooting, rebounding, steals, blocks, and player-specific abilities, while customizable settings allow the experience to be adjusted to suit different skill levels. Multiplayer support also makes it possible to compete against friends locally on the GameCube.
Developed by Left Field Productions and published by Nintendo in 2002, NBA Courtside 2002 was the final entry in Nintendo’s Courtside basketball series and the franchise’s only release for the GameCube. Its combination of licensed NBA presentation and early GameCube sports gameplay makes it an interesting addition for basketball fans, sports game collectors, and anyone building a Nintendo GameCube library.
