Description

Official Xbox Original Wired Duke Controller is Microsoft’s original large-format controller released alongside the first Xbox console. Commonly known as the “Duke,” it features the distinctive oversized shell, asymmetrical analog stick layout, analog triggers, directional pad, and six face buttons that defined the Xbox control scheme at launch.

The controller includes the standard A, B, X, and Y buttons along with the original Black and White function buttons used by many Xbox games. Dual analog sticks support movement and camera control, while pressure-sensitive analog triggers provide variable input for racing, shooting, and other compatible games. The attached cable uses the original Xbox controller connection and includes Microsoft’s breakaway cable design to help prevent the console from being pulled if the cord is caught.

Introduced with the Xbox in 2001, the Duke was later replaced as the standard controller by the smaller Controller S, making the original design an especially recognizable piece of early Xbox hardware. Its substantial size, distinctive button layout, official Microsoft construction, and close association with the Xbox launch era make it a popular controller for original hardware setups and collectors.
