Payday 2 - PlayStation 3 is a cooperative first-person shooter centered on high-stakes criminal heists in and around Washington, D.C. Players join the Payday Gang as Dallas, Hoxton, Wolf, or Chains and take on jobs ranging from bank robberies and armored car hits to kidnappings and other elaborate operations.
Gameplay allows many heists to be approached through stealth or direct action, with missions changing depending on player decisions and circumstances. Players earn cash and experience to unlock weapons, masks, equipment, and skills across several specialized progression trees. Teamwork is central to larger jobs, with players coordinating objectives, managing hostages, carrying loot, and fighting police forces when plans turn loud. The PlayStation 3 release originally supported cooperative online multiplayer alongside its heist-focused progression system.
Developed by Overkill Software and published by 505 Games in 2013, Payday 2 expanded significantly on the original Payday: The Heist with more missions, customization, and character progression.
