Pokemon HeartGold Version - Nintendo DS is a role-playing adventure that returns players to the Johto region in an enhanced remake of Pokemon Gold Version. Players choose a starter Pokémon, travel between towns and routes, battle Gym Leaders, challenge rival Trainers, and work toward becoming the Pokémon League Champion while uncovering the return of Team Rocket.
Gameplay combines turn-based Pokémon battles, exploration, catching and training creatures, trading, and team building. One of the game’s signature features allows the first Pokémon in the player’s party to follow behind them throughout the world. The adventure also includes access to the Kanto region after the main Johto journey, greatly expanding the number of locations, Gym battles, and Pokémon available to encounter.
Developed by Game Freak and published by Nintendo and The Pokémon Company in 2010 in North America, Pokemon HeartGold Version was released alongside Pokemon SoulSilver Version as a remake of the original Generation II games. Its expanded world, large Pokémon roster, and extensive post-game content make it an especially appealing choice for Pokémon fans, RPG players, and collectors building a Nintendo DS library.
