Raid on Bungeling Bay for the Nintendo Entertainment System is an action game that puts you in the cockpit of a heavily armed attack helicopter on a mission to cripple the Bungeling Empire's war machine. Rather than battling through linear stages, you'll freely patrol a chain of islands, destroying enemy factories before they can produce the powerful battleship that threatens world peace.
Fly across an open map to locate and eliminate six military factories while defending yourself against tanks, ships, anti-aircraft guns, fighter planes, and other enemy forces. Each factory becomes increasingly well-defended as the mission progresses, requiring careful planning and precise attacks. Balance offense and survival by managing enemy threats, avoiding heavy fire, and strategically choosing the order in which to strike your targets before the enemy fleet grows too powerful.
Developed by Will Wright and published by Broderbund in 1987, Raid on Bungeling Bay is notable as one of the earliest games designed by the creator of SimCity. Its open-ended gameplay, strategic decision-making, and non-linear mission structure made it a unique experience on the NES and an influential title in early game design.
