S.L.A.I.: Steel Lancer Arena International for PlayStation 2 is a fast-paced mech combat game that puts players in command of highly customizable combat machines known as Rounders. Developed by Genki and published by Agetec, the game is set in a futuristic world where corporations settle disputes through organized arena battles, and players must rise through the ranks to become the greatest Steel Lancer pilot in the league.
Players compete in a variety of arena matches across expansive urban environments, battling rival pilots using an arsenal of machine guns, laser cannons, missiles, melee weapons, and specialized equipment. Success earns prize money that can be used to purchase new Rounders, upgrade existing machines, and customize nearly every aspect of your mech to suit your preferred combat style.
Featuring dozens of interchangeable parts, players can fine-tune their Steel Lancer's frame, armor, weapons, engines, and mobility systems to create everything from agile hit-and-run fighters to heavily armored assault machines. Strategic customization plays a major role in overcoming increasingly skilled opponents and adapting to different mission types and arena layouts.
In addition to its single-player career mode, S.L.A.I. supports local multiplayer, allowing friends to battle one another in intense mech-versus-mech combat.
