Silent Hill 4: The Room - Xbox is a survival horror game that follows Henry Townshend, a man mysteriously trapped inside his apartment with no way to leave through the front door or windows. After discovering a strange hole in the bathroom wall, Henry begins traveling through disturbing alternate locations connected to a series of murders and the troubled history of Walter Sullivan.
Gameplay alternates between exploring Henry’s apartment from a first-person perspective and navigating hostile environments in third person. Players solve environmental puzzles, manage limited inventory space, and fight grotesque creatures using melee weapons and firearms. Later sections introduce persistent ghost enemies that cannot be defeated normally, requiring special items and careful resource management to keep them under control.
Developed by Konami Computer Entertainment Tokyo and published by Konami in 2004, Silent Hill 4: The Room takes a different approach from earlier entries while retaining the series’ psychological horror, unsettling sound design, and interconnected storytelling. Its apartment-based structure, recurring locations, unusual enemy mechanics, and darker narrative make it a distinctive entry for Silent Hill fans and original Xbox collectors.
