Sonic and the Secret Rings - Wii is a 3D action-platformer that sends Sonic into a magical world inspired by One Thousand and One Nights. Guided by Shahra, the Genie of the Ring, Sonic races through storybook environments to stop the Erazor Djinn, who is erasing the pages of the Arabian Nights and seeking the powerful Seven World Rings.
Gameplay is built around forward-running stages controlled with the Wii Remote held horizontally. Players tilt the controller to steer Sonic, jump over hazards, attack enemies, and navigate winding paths filled with rings, shortcuts, and obstacles. Completing missions earns experience that unlocks new skills, allowing players to customize Sonic’s abilities and improve traits such as speed, handling, and special techniques. Additional challenges remix stages with different objectives and requirements.
Developed by Sonic Team and published by SEGA in 2007, Sonic and the Secret Rings was created specifically for the Wii and introduced a distinct motion-controlled approach to 3D Sonic gameplay.
