Sonic Colors: Ultimate - Xbox Series X is an enhanced remaster of the 2010 Wii platformer Sonic Colors, following Sonic and Tails as they investigate Dr. Eggman’s enormous interstellar amusement park. Sonic races across colorful planets while freeing alien creatures known as Wisps and stopping Eggman from using their energy for his latest scheme.
Gameplay combines high-speed 3D stages with side-scrolling platforming, boosting, grinding, and Wisp-powered abilities that open alternate routes and hidden areas. Different Wisps grant temporary powers such as drilling underground, transforming into a laser, or passing through certain obstacles. Ultimate adds upgraded visuals, new customization options, the Jade Ghost Wisp, and Rival Rush races against Metal Sonic while retaining the original game’s stage-based progression.
Developed by Blind Squirrel Games and published by Sega in 2021, Sonic Colors: Ultimate modernized one of Sonic’s well-regarded 3D adventures for newer hardware. The Xbox release is compatible with Xbox Series X through the Xbox ecosystem, offering a polished way to experience the game’s colorful worlds and fast platforming.
