Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World for the Wii is a role-playing game set after the events of the original Tales of Symphonia, returning players to the world of Sylvarant and Tethe’alla as it struggles with the consequences of reunification. The story follows Emil Castagnier, a timid young man haunted by tragedy, and his mysterious companion Marta Lualdi, who is driven by revenge against those she believes are responsible for her suffering. Together, they become entangled in a conflict involving monster outbreaks and a shadowy organization known as the Vanguard.
Unlike its predecessor, this sequel introduces a monster-taming system, allowing players to recruit, train, and evolve creatures to fight alongside the main cast. Combat uses the series’ real-time battle system, blending fast-paced action with strategic positioning and special attacks. Returning characters from the original Tales of Symphonia, including Lloyd Irving and his companions, play key roles in the narrative, helping bridge the emotional and thematic gap between the two stories.
Often referred to simply as Dawn of the New World, this Wii release explores themes of identity, trauma, and growth while expanding the lore of the Tales universe.
