Tecmo Super Bowl - NES is an American football game featuring officially licensed NFL teams and players from the early 1990s. Players can take control of their favorite club, compete through a full season, and work toward the playoffs and Super Bowl while managing both offensive and defensive play calling.
Gameplay combines fast arcade-style action with deeper football strategy, including passing, rushing, interceptions, sacks, field goals, punts, and player substitutions. Each team has its own roster and playbook, while injuries and player condition can affect performance throughout the season. The game supports both single-player and local multiplayer, and season statistics track individual and team performance across an extended campaign.
Developed and published by Tecmo and released for the NES in North America in 1991, Tecmo Super Bowl expanded greatly on the original Tecmo Bowl with full NFL licensing, complete rosters, and season play.
