The Tick - SEGA Genesis
Description
Description
The Tick - SEGA Genesis is a side-scrolling action game based on the comic-book superhero and animated television series. Players take control of the nearly indestructible Tick as he battles criminals, supervillains, and bizarre enemies across a series of stages filled with the offbeat humor and exaggerated superhero parody associated with the character.
Gameplay focuses on traditional beat-'em-up combat as the Tick punches, kicks, and fights through groups of enemies while moving across urban environments and other unusual locations. Stages feature repeated combat encounters, environmental hazards, and appearances from characters inspired by the series, with straightforward controls designed around fast arcade-style action.
Developed by Software Creations and published by Fox Interactive in 1994, The Tick brought the cult superhero property to 16-bit consoles during the height of the animated series. Its cartoon-inspired presentation, comedic tone, recognizable characters, and side-scrolling combat make it an appealing choice for fans of The Tick, retro beat-'em-ups, and SEGA Genesis collectors.
