Description
Description
True Crime: New York City - PlayStation 2 is an open-world action game set across a recreation of Manhattan. Players take control of Marcus Reed, a former criminal turned police officer who investigates the death of his mentor while uncovering corruption and organized crime throughout the city.
Gameplay combines third-person shooting, hand-to-hand combat, driving, investigation, and police work. Players can respond to street crimes, arrest suspects, interrogate characters, collect evidence, and pursue story missions while freely exploring the city. Marcus can also improve his skills, purchase weapons and vehicles, and make choices that influence whether he acts as a good cop or a corrupt one.
Developed by Luxoflux and published by Activision in 2005, True Crime: New York City expands on the open-world formula introduced in True Crime: Streets of LA with a denser urban setting and greater emphasis on police activities. Its mix of crime drama, open-world exploration, combat, driving, and morality-based choices makes it an appealing choice for action game fans and PlayStation 2 collectors.
