Twisted Metal: Black & Twisted Metal: Black Online - PlayStation 2 combines the dark vehicular combat of Twisted Metal: Black with a bonus disc containing Twisted Metal: Black Online. The main game follows a cast of disturbed drivers competing in Calypso’s deadly tournament, with each character pursuing a personal wish while battling through destructive arenas filled with weapons, hazards, and rival vehicles.
Gameplay centers on driving heavily armed vehicles while collecting missiles, mines, health pickups, and other weapons. Each vehicle features different speed, armor, handling, and a unique special attack. The included Twisted Metal: Black Online bonus disc was designed for competitive online battles and originally required a PlayStation 2 Network Adapter and internet connection. The official online service is no longer available, so the bonus disc’s original network functionality cannot be used as it was at release.
Developed by Incognito Entertainment and published by Sony Computer Entertainment, this Greatest Hits package combines one of the PlayStation 2’s defining vehicular combat games with its separate online expansion disc. Its dark atmosphere, memorable roster, destructive arenas, and unusual two-disc presentation make it an appealing choice for Twisted Metal fans and PlayStation 2 collectors.
