Wild Arms 5 for PlayStation 2 is a classic Japanese role-playing game that blends fantasy, science fiction, and Western-inspired adventure in the beloved world of Filgaia. Developed by Media.Vision and published by Sony Computer Entertainment, the game follows Dean Stark, an energetic young Dream Chaser, and Rebecca Streisand, a determined treasure hunter, as they embark on a globe-spanning quest that uncovers ancient technology, forgotten civilizations, and a conspiracy that threatens the future of their world.
Players explore towns, dungeons, and expansive environments filled with environmental puzzles that make creative use of each character's unique Tools, such as bombs, grappling devices, and other gadgets. These abilities are used both in exploration and to solve increasingly complex obstacles, adding variety beyond traditional RPG progression.
Combat features the strategic Hex Battle System, where positioning, movement, and area-of-effect attacks play a major role in every encounter.
