Winter Stars - Xbox 360 is a motion-controlled sports game built around a collection of winter athletic events. Players compete across 11 disciplines, including downhill skiing, snowboarding, bobsledding, biathlon, figure skating, curling, ski flying, short-track speed skating, snowmobiling, freeride skiing, and paraskiing.
Gameplay uses full-body Kinect controls to translate movements into actions such as steering, jumping, balancing, skating, and aiming. A career mode follows a team of athletes through competitions while allowing players to improve their abilities as they progress. Individual events can also be played separately, giving players a variety of racing, precision, and performance-based challenges across snowy mountains, ice tracks, and indoor arenas.
Developed by 49Games and published by Deep Silver in 2011, Winter Stars was designed specifically around motion-based winter sports gameplay. The Xbox 360 version requires the Kinect sensor to play. Its broad selection of events, career progression, accessible motion controls, and uncommon winter-sports focus make it an appealing addition for Kinect fans and Xbox 360 collectors.
