We have some disappointing updates about several upcoming Zelda products. Our distributor has shared new information about availability, packaging, and arrival times that will affect some preorders, and we want to explain where things stand.
We know you’ve been looking forward to these releases. For many of you, the special packaging and anniversary designs were a big part of the excitement. We’re sorry that what we can provide is changing from what you expected when you placed your order.
Here is the latest information for each item:
- The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time – Nintendo Switch 2: We were originally told that our copies would include the textured foil cover. Our distributor has now informed us that it received word from Nintendo that this is changing for copies supplied through distribution. The copies we receive will instead have standard, non-foil cover art. We understand that the foil cover matters to collectors and may have been the reason you chose to preorder.
- Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller – The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Edition: We have confirmed enough controllers to fulfill approximately two-thirds of our existing preorders. We are still waiting for confirmation on whether our distributor can provide enough to cover the remaining third. At this point, fulfillment of those remaining orders is uncertain, and there is no confirmed restock date.
- Nintendo Switch 2 Carrying Case – The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Edition: These are currently expected to arrive at our distributor on October 28, although that date is an estimate. They will then need to be shipped to Bitjump before we can fulfill customer orders. We expect a later arrival at our store and do not yet have a confirmed shipping or pickup date.
- Nintendo Switch 2 Console – The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Edition: Based on our distributor’s latest update, we will not receive this console for launch day. It is possible that at no point this console will be made available at our store, unfortuently. We know this is especially disappointing for anyone who was hoping to purchase one through us.
As an independent game store, we depend on the inventory made available through distribution. We believe Nintendo giving larger retailers priority may be contributing to some of these shortages and differences in availability, though we have not received confirmation of how those allocation decisions were made. It is frustrating to have customers ready to support our shop while we’re unable to secure the products they want.
You placed your order with Bitjump, and you deserve clear information about what we can fulfill and what remains uncertain. We’ll continue following up with our distributor and share confirmed updates as we receive them.
If you would like to cancel your affected order, you can do so in either of these ways:
- Through your customer account: Sign in to your Bitjump customer account on our website, find your order, and select the option to cancel.
- By email: Send an email to contact@bitjumpgames.com with your order number and a request to cancel. You can also reply directly to your original order confirmation email and request cancellation.
We will process cancellation requests and issue a full refund to every affected customer who chooses to cancel. We understand if the packaging change, uncertain availability, or delay means the order no longer works for you.
Thank you for your patience and for choosing to support Bitjump. We appreciate the trust you put in us, and we’re sorry to be bringing you this news.
