Description
Castlevania - Nintendo 64 is a 3D action-adventure that brings Konami’s gothic series into a fully three-dimensional world. Players choose between two protagonists: Reinhardt Schneider, a whip-wielding vampire hunter, and Carrie Fernandez, a young magician with powerful ranged attacks. Their journeys lead them toward Dracula’s castle as dark forces spread across the surrounding countryside.
Gameplay combines combat, platforming, exploration, and puzzle solving across forests, villas, underground passages, towers, and other haunted environments. Reinhardt and Carrie offer different approaches to combat, with each character using unique weapons and abilities. The game also features a day-and-night system that can affect certain events and encounters, while environmental hazards and demanding platforming sections add to the challenge.
Developed and published by Konami in 1999, Castlevania was the series’ first 3D entry on Nintendo 64. Its gothic atmosphere, dual playable characters, and experimental transition from 2D to 3D make it an important release in Castlevania history and an appealing choice for series fans, horror-action enthusiasts, and Nintendo 64 collectors.
