Description
Description
Step into the ring with a heavyweight legend and prove you’ve got the grit to be the "Real Deal." Evander Holyfield's "Real Deal" Boxing for the SEGA Genesis is the gold standard of 16-bit boxing. Released in 1992, this title ditched the cartoony tropes of other fighters for a more realistic, strategic approach to the sweet science. It is a mandatory, high-energy essential for retro sports fans and Genesis collectors who want a deep career mode and the most satisfying knockouts on the system.
Ditch the arcade-style button mashers and master the technical depth of the "Career Mode," where you create your own fighter and climb the ranks from a lowly 30th seed to the world championship. Unlike other boxing titles, Real Deal features a unique 2D side-view that allows for strategic positioning and a variety of punches, from stinging jabs to devastating uppercuts. The gameplay emphasizes stat-based progression and stamina management; between bouts, you must carefully allocate training points to speed, power, and defense while managing your fighter's aging process. With its large, detailed sprites, visceral blood effects (which can be toggled!), and the legendary Holyfield himself as the final challenge, this title delivers a definitive and highly tactical 16-bit sports experience on your original SEGA hardware.
