Gex 3D: Enter the Gecko - Nintendo 64 is a 3D platforming adventure starring Gex, a sarcastic television-obsessed gecko who is pulled into the Media Dimension to confront the villainous Rez. The adventure takes Gex through a variety of television-inspired worlds that parody genres such as horror, cartoons, science fiction, and action movies.
Gameplay combines exploration, platforming, combat, and collectible hunting across large 3D stages. Gex can jump, tail-whip enemies, climb certain surfaces, and use special abilities to navigate obstacles and uncover hidden areas. Players complete objectives and collect remote controls to unlock additional levels, while secret items and alternate paths encourage thorough exploration of each themed environment.
Developed by Crystal Dynamics and published by Midway Games in 1998, the Nintendo 64 release is also known as Gex 64: Enter the Gecko. It adapts the second game in the Gex series for Nintendo’s console with colorful 3D environments, humor, pop-culture references, and collectible-focused platforming, making it an appealing choice for fans of late-1990s platformers and Nintendo 64 collectors.
