Legacy of Ys: Books I & II - Nintendo DS
Description
Description
Legacy of Ys: Books I & II for Nintendo DS is a faithful remake of the first two entries in the legendary Ys action RPG series, originally developed by Nihon Falcom. This enhanced collection brings Ys I: Ancient Ys Vanished and Ys II: Ancient Ys Vanished – The Final Chapter together in one package, complete with fully reworked 3D graphics, voice acting, and an upgraded soundtrack—all optimized for the Nintendo DS’s dual screens and touch capabilities.
You play as Adol Christin, a red-haired swordsman destined to uncover the secrets of a long-lost kingdom. Across both games, you’ll journey through dangerous ruins, monster-filled forests, and magical towers as you unravel the history of Ys and battle to stop an ancient evil. The story spans two interconnected adventures with continuous narrative progression, making this one of the most complete and cohesive experiences in the Ys franchise.
Combat is fast-paced and unique, using the signature “bump system†from the original games—where you damage enemies by running into them off-center without the need for traditional attack buttons. While simple at first, the system rewards precision, positioning, and quick reflexes, especially in boss battles. Ys II expands on this by introducing powerful magic spells that add variety and tactical options to your encounters.
Legacy of Ys: Books I & II features a full English localization, anime-inspired cutscenes, and a multiplayer battle mode via wireless connection, letting friends challenge each other in head-to-head duels. Whether you’re a longtime fan or a newcomer to Ys, this collection is a fantastic way to experience two foundational RPGs that helped shape the genre.
