Madden Football 64 - Nintendo 64 brings EA’s long-running football series to Nintendo’s 64-bit console with fully 3D players, stadiums, and on-field action. Players can compete with teams based on professional football clubs from the era while calling offensive and defensive plays, passing, rushing, tackling, kicking, and managing the flow of each game.
Gameplay includes exhibition matches, season play, playoffs, and local multiplayer, with extensive playbooks offering different formations and strategies for both sides of the ball. Player ratings influence performance on the field, while passing routes, running plays, defensive coverage, and special teams give players multiple ways to approach each matchup. Unlike many Madden releases, the game does not feature official NFL team names or logos, although it includes real NFL players through the NFL Players Association license.
Developed by Tiburon Entertainment and published by EA Sports in 1997, Madden Football 64 was the first Madden game released for the Nintendo 64.
