Description

Mario Kart 64 - JP Nintendo 64 is the Japanese release of Nintendo’s classic kart racing game, bringing Mario, Luigi, Peach, Bowser, Yoshi, Toad, Wario, and Donkey Kong together for colorful races across a variety of themed tracks. Players compete through circuits filled with sharp turns, jumps, hazards, shortcuts, and familiar Mario items designed to help racers gain an advantage or disrupt their opponents.

Gameplay includes Grand Prix, Time Trials, Versus, and Battle modes, with support for up to four players in local multiplayer. Racers can collect items such as Green Shells, Red Shells, Bananas, Mushrooms, and Lightning while mastering drifting and track layouts. Battle mode places players in dedicated arenas where the goal is to pop opponents’ balloons rather than race to a finish line.

Developed and published by Nintendo in 1996, Mario Kart 64 was the second game in the Mario Kart series and the franchise’s first entry with four-player split-screen multiplayer. This is the Japanese-region Nintendo 64 release, featuring Japanese-language packaging and game text and intended for compatible Japanese N64 hardware, making it an appealing choice for Mario Kart fans and regional Nintendo 64 collectors.
