Mass Effect 3 blends third-person shooting with role-playing mechanics, squad management, and character progression. Players choose from multiple combat classes, customize weapons and abilities, and command squadmates during battles against Reaper forces and other enemies. Dialogue choices, exploration, and major story decisions remain central to the experience, while imported save data from earlier games can carry previous choices into the campaign.
The adventure spans numerous planets, space stations, and war-torn locations as Shepard completes missions to gain military support and strengthen the galaxy’s readiness for the final conflict. The game also introduced cooperative multiplayer missions where teams of players battle waves of enemies using different character classes and species.
