Need for Speed: Undercover - Xbox 360 is an open-world racing game that puts players in the role of an undercover police officer infiltrating a dangerous criminal organization. Set across the connected districts of Tri-City Bay, the story unfolds through live-action sequences as players build their reputation, earn the trust of street racers, and uncover a larger conspiracy.
Gameplay combines high-speed street racing, police pursuits, open-world driving, and vehicle customization. Players compete in circuit races, sprints, highway battles, and other events while purchasing and upgrading licensed performance cars. Police chases can escalate as additional units and roadblocks appear, while certain missions involve taking down rival vehicles through aggressive driving. Cars can be modified with performance upgrades and visual customization as players progress through the campaign.
Developed by EA Black Box and published by Electronic Arts in 2008, Need for Speed: Undercover returned the series to a story-driven street-racing format after ProStreet.
