New Play Control! Mario Power Tennis - Wii brings the colorful tennis action of the Nintendo GameCube original to Wii with motion-based controls. Mario, Luigi, Peach, Bowser, Yoshi, and other familiar characters compete across imaginative courts inspired by the Mushroom Kingdom, each offering distinctive visual themes, hazards, and gameplay twists.
Gameplay uses the Wii Remote to perform forehands, backhands, serves, and other tennis shots through swinging motions. Players can compete in singles or doubles matches, work through tournament play, and take on special games that add unusual objectives beyond standard tennis. Characters have different strengths and signature Power Shots, giving matches an arcade-style feel while still rewarding positioning, timing, and shot selection. Local multiplayer makes the game especially suited to competitive or cooperative play with friends and family.
Developed by Camelot Software Planning and published by Nintendo, New Play Control! Mario Power Tennis was released for Wii in North America in 2009. It adapts the 2004 GameCube game with redesigned controls built around the Wii Remote, making it an appealing choice for Mario sports fans, motion-control enthusiasts, and Nintendo Wii collectors.
