Description
Description
Paper Mario - Nintendo 64 is a turn-based role-playing adventure that follows Mario on a quest to rescue Princess Peach after Bowser steals the Star Rod and uses its power to defeat him. Mario travels across the Mushroom Kingdom, meeting new allies and collecting the seven Star Spirits needed to challenge Bowser and restore peace.
Gameplay combines exploration, puzzle solving, platforming, and turn-based battles with timed button presses that can strengthen attacks or reduce incoming damage. Mario is joined by a variety of partners, including Goombario, Kooper, Bombette, and Parakarry, each with unique abilities used both in combat and while exploring the world. Players can equip Badges, upgrade partners, earn Star Points, and customize Mario’s abilities as the adventure progresses.
Developed by Intelligent Systems and published by Nintendo, Paper Mario was released for Nintendo 64 in North America in 2001. Its storybook-inspired visual style, humorous writing, memorable characters, and approachable RPG mechanics helped establish a long-running series, making it a standout title for Mario fans and Nintendo 64 collectors.
