Rush'n Attack - NES is a side-scrolling action game that puts players in control of a lone soldier infiltrating enemy territory during a Cold War-inspired military operation. Armed primarily with a combat knife, players move through heavily guarded bases, eliminate enemy troops, and push deeper into hostile territory while avoiding gunfire, traps, and other hazards.
Gameplay emphasizes fast movement, close-range attacks, and careful timing. Players can stab enemies with the knife, pick up temporary weapons such as flamethrowers and grenades, and navigate stages filled with soldiers, ladders, platforms, and defensive obstacles. The game becomes increasingly difficult as enemies attack in larger numbers and from multiple directions, requiring quick reactions and precise positioning.
Developed and published by Konami, Rush'n Attack was released for the NES in North America in 1987 as a home adaptation of the arcade game known in Japan as Green Beret. Its straightforward combat, military theme, escalating difficulty, and classic arcade-style structure make it an appealing choice for retro action fans and NES collectors.
