SoulCalibur II - GameCube is a 3D weapons-based fighting game featuring a diverse roster of warriors battling over the legendary swords Soul Edge and Soul Calibur. Fighters such as Mitsurugi, Ivy, Nightmare, Taki, Sophitia, and Kilik return alongside new characters, with each combatant using a distinct weapon and fighting style.
Gameplay focuses on fast one-on-one battles with eight-way movement, guarding, throws, combos, and powerful weapon attacks. Modes include Arcade, Versus, Time Attack, Survival, and Weapon Master, where players complete specialized challenges, earn currency, and unlock additional weapons and content. The GameCube version is especially notable for including Link from The Legend of Zelda as an exclusive playable guest character, complete with his Master Sword, Hylian Shield, and several familiar attacks.
Developed by Project Soul and published by Namco in 2003, SoulCalibur II became one of the most acclaimed fighting games of its generation. Its polished combat, large roster, extensive single-player content, local multiplayer, and exclusive inclusion of Link make the GameCube version especially appealing to fighting game fans, Zelda enthusiasts, and Nintendo GameCube collectors.
