Super Smash Bros. - JP Nintendo 64 is the Japanese release of Nintendo’s original crossover fighting game, bringing together characters from several of the company’s best-known franchises. The roster includes Mario, Link, Pikachu, Kirby, Donkey Kong, Samus, Fox McCloud, Yoshi, and other familiar fighters, each using attacks and abilities inspired by their original games.
Gameplay differs from traditional fighting games by focusing on damage percentage and knockback rather than a standard health bar. Players battle across stages based on Nintendo series while using normal attacks, special moves, throws, and items to knock opponents off the screen. The game includes single-player challenges and local multiplayer for up to four players, making competitive group play a major part of the experience.
Developed by HAL Laboratory and published by Nintendo in 1999, Super Smash Bros. launched a series that became one of Nintendo’s most popular multiplayer franchises.
