Tales of Symphonia for the Nintendo GameCube is an expansive action RPG from Namco's long-running Tales series. Follow Lloyd Irving and his childhood friend Colette Brunel as they leave their village on a journey to regenerate the declining world of Sylvarant. What begins as a quest to restore the world's mana soon develops into a much larger conflict involving two interconnected worlds, ancient secrets, discrimination, sacrifice, and the true nature of Colette's mission.
Explore towns, dungeons, forests, temples, and a large overworld while assembling a party of memorable characters including Genis, Raine, Kratos, Sheena, and Zelos. Battles use the series' real-time Linear Motion Battle System, allowing players to directly control a character while attacking, defending, casting techniques, and coordinating with party members. Characters gain new abilities as they level up, while equipment, cooking, and customization systems provide additional ways to strengthen the party.
Developed by Namco Tales Studio and released for the GameCube in North America in 2004, Tales of Symphonia became one of the system's most recognized role-playing games. With an extensive story, anime-inspired presentation, real-time combat, and local multiplayer support during battles, Tales of Symphonia is a standout adventure for GameCube collectors and fans of classic Japanese RPGs.
