Players arrange falling tetrominoes to complete horizontal lines and keep the playfield from filling, while the game introduces additional strategies designed specifically for this Nintendo 64 entry.
The signature feature is the ability to form 4x4 squares from multiple tetrominoes. Creating complete squares produces special silver or gold blocks that can award larger bonuses when cleared, encouraging players to plan beyond individual lines. Traditional Tetris fundamentals remain central, including rotating and positioning pieces as the falling speed increases.
