SEGA Dreamcast Console with Retro GEM HDMI Kit Pre-Installed
Description
Description
Play your Sega Dreamcast on modern TVs with a console featuring the PixelFX Retro Gem HDMI Universal Upscaler (Basic Edition) pre-installed. This upgrade taps the console’s digital video path to deliver a clean, low-lag HDMI signal with sharp detail and stable color—no noisy analog converters or external boxes required. It’s perfect for the Dreamcast’s 480p-capable titles and handles 240p/480i content cleanly for capture and big-screen play.
Why Retro Gem from PixelFX feels premium: true digital HDMI output (not a simple analog adapter), on-screen controls to fine-tune scaling/aspect/filters, and near-zero added latency for a responsive feel. The Basic Edition supports up to 720p; you can unlock additional features—like resolutions up to 1440p—by purchasing a software upgrade to the Shiny Edition* with no new hardware required.
Great with 4K scalers: Feed the Retro Gem’s stable HDMI into PixelFX Morph 4K or RetroTINK 4K for precision 4K mapping, profiles, and advanced processing. Basic is an excellent choice when pairing with a scaler; Shiny works great standalone and adds versatility if you expand your setup later.
Refurbished for reliability: each unit is cleaned inside and out; the optical lens is cleaned and calibrated as needed; the GD-ROM drive mechanism and cooling path are inspected; and ports and switches are serviced for consistent operation. Normal cosmetic wear (light scuffs or small marks) may be present and does not affect gameplay.
- Refurbished: Console is cleaned and tested for reliability. Parts are replaced as neeed
- Premium Refurbished: Full capacitor recap done on motherboard and PSU.
What’s Included
- Sega Dreamcast console with PixelFX Retro Gem (Basic Edition) installed
- AC power cable
- HDMI to Mini HDMI cable
- No controller included
Please note: This is an authentic refurbished console. While we do our best to restore every system to excellent condition, some light cosmetic wear may still be present from normal use over time. Every console is tested and guaranteed to be fully functional.
*Notes on the Retro Gem upgrade: Basic Edition outputs up to 720p. Shiny Edition unlocks additional features and resolutions up to 1440p via a software purchase and on-screen update workflow. Image options let you balance sharpness and smoothing per game while maintaining the original look and feel.
