Description
Description
Vandal Hearts for PlayStation is a tactical role-playing game developed and published by Konami that helped define the genre on Sony’s first console. Set in a war-torn fantasy world filled with political intrigue and moral conflict, players take control of Ash Lambert and his band of soldiers as they uncover a dark conspiracy threatening the peace of the kingdom of Ishtaria. Each battle unfolds on a grid-based map, where careful strategy, positioning, and class balance determine victory or defeat.
Featuring fast-paced, turn-based combat and richly detailed 3D battlefields, Vandal Hearts stands out for its accessible gameplay and deep tactical depth. Players can recruit and upgrade characters across multiple classes—such as knights, archers, and mages—each with their own strengths, weaknesses, and special attacks. Its engaging story, memorable cast, and distinctive visual style make it a standout among early strategy RPGs.
Praised for its tight gameplay and mature storytelling, Vandal Hearts remains a beloved classic for fans of the genre, standing alongside titles like Final Fantasy Tactics and Tactics Ogre as one of the defining tactical RPGs of the late 1990s.
