Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness for Nintendo GameCube is a story-driven RPG set in the desert region of Orre, where players take on the role of a young Trainer working to stop a mysterious organization creating corrupted Shadow Pokémon. After discovering a special device that can identify these Shadow Pokémon, the journey begins to rescue them and restore balance to the region.
Players travel across towns, outposts, and battle facilities while encountering trainers, uncovering the group’s plans, and capturing Shadow Pokémon from opponents. Once captured, these Pokémon must be purified before they can fully return to their normal state and fight alongside your team.
Battles take place using the traditional turn-based Pokémon system, with a strong focus on double battles that add strategic depth to every encounter. With its unique setting, memorable characters, and focus on rescuing Shadow Pokémon, Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness for GameCube delivers a distinctive Pokémon adventure outside the main series games.
