Description
Released in 1998 as a portable port of the arcade sequel, Rampage World Tour for the Game Boy Color puts you in control of three humans-turned-monsters on a mission to dismantle the corrupt Scumlabs corporation. The journey begins in Peoria but quickly spans the globe, taking you to cities like London, Moscow, and Tokyo to level every skyscraper in sight. Your primary goal in each of the game's 130 levels is total urban destruction: you must smash every building to rubble while fending off an increasingly aggressive military force equipped with tanks, helicopters, and even giant robots. To stay alive, you'll need to snack on fleeing civilians or find hidden "Mega Food" items tucked inside windows, all while avoiding hazardous objects like neon signs and electrical outlets.
The game features the iconic trio of monsters—George the giant ape, Lizzie the reptilian dinosaur, and Ralph the massive werewolf—each with their own specific strengths and dietary quirks. George is the fastest of the group, Ralph is a slow-moving powerhouse for rapid demolition, and Lizzie offers a balanced mix of both speed and strength. Beyond the main three, players can input a secret code to play as Tiny, a massive powerhouse monster, or find purple radioactive waste to temporarily transform into V.E.R.N., a flying, fire-breathing beast. A unique mechanic in this version is the Allergy system; if your monster eats something they are allergic to—like Ralph eating a cat—they will let out a massive sneeze that can instantly bring down an entire building.
