Description
In Disney's The Haunted Mansion, you step into the boots of Ezekiel "Zeke" Halloway, a timid aspiring author who takes a caretaker job at a foreboding New Orleans estate in 1879. Released alongside the 2003 film, the game is actually more faithful to the original Disneyland attraction. Your goal is to help the iconic Madame Leota (trapped in her crystal ball) defeat the evil Atticus Thorn and his "Order of Shadows" by capturing 999 shriveled souls to restore light to the mansion.
The gameplay is a 3D action-adventure that feels like a more combat-heavy version of Luigi's Mansion. Armed with the Beacon of Souls—a magical lantern that can shoot fireballs or vacuum up spirits—you explore 24 puzzle-filled rooms based on famous ride locations, including the Ballroom, the Attic, and the Graveyard. Instead of a traditional health bar, Zeke has a "Courage Meter" that depletes whenever he gets spooked by the mansion's ghouls; if it hits zero, he faints from fright.
