The Cold War has turned hot in this alternate-history, third-person shooter. In *Freedom Fighters*, the Soviet Union has invaded and occupied New York City. You play as a plumber turned resistance leader, who must build a ragtag army of freedom fighters to take back the city. The game's standout feature is its intuitive and effective squad command system. You can recruit up to 12 other freedom fighters to join your cause, and issue them simple commands to attack, defend, and follow you. The game's 'Charisma' system rewards you for completing objectives and liberating parts of the city, allowing you to recruit more fighters and turn the tide of the war.
