Mobile Suit Gundam: Extreme Vs. is a high-speed, 2v2 team-based fighting game developed and published by Bandai Namco Games exclusively in Japan for the PlayStation 3 in 2011. As a faithful port of the 2010 arcade hit, it features over 70 mobile suits from across the Gundam multiverse, including flagship units from Universal Century, Gundam Wing, SEED, and 00. The game is technically notable for its official collaboration with the band Linkin Park, whose song "The Catalyst" serves as the title's opening theme.
The gameplay is technically built around a "Unit Cost" system (1000, 2000, 2500, or 3000), where players must manage a shared team health pool; higher-tier units are more powerful but deplete the pool faster upon destruction. A key mechanical addition to this entry is Extreme Action, which allows players to "dash-cancel" almost any attack to chain complex aerial combos, and the Extreme Burst gauge, which triggers a "Super Mode" (like Trans-Am or NT-D) for temporary stat boosts and unique finishing moves.
