Star Fox 64 - Nintendo 64 is a sci-fi rail shooter that follows Fox McCloud and the Star Fox team as they battle the forces of Andross across the Lylat system. Players pilot the Arwing alongside Falco, Peppy, and Slippy through space battles, planetary assaults, and branching missions filled with enemy fighters, massive bosses, and cinematic radio chatter.
Gameplay centers on fast-paced shooting, evasive maneuvers, target locking, and route selection, with performance in certain stages determining which missions become available next. In addition to the Arwing, players also control the Landmaster tank and Blue-Marine submarine in specialized levels. The game supports local multiplayer and was one of the first Nintendo 64 titles to make prominent use of the Rumble Pak for force feedback during combat.
Developed and published by Nintendo in 1997, Star Fox 64 reimagined and expanded the original Super Nintendo Star Fox with full voice acting, branching paths, and improved 3D action.
