Description
In Men In Black II: Alien Escape, players step into the black suits of Agents J and K to defend Earth from the scum of the universe in a fast-paced, third-person arcade shooter. Developed by Melbourne House and released in 2002 to coincide with the film’s theatrical run, the game moves away from the stealth and investigation of the first movie, focusing instead on high-octane "run and gun" combat. You must stop the alien villain Jarra and his army of extraterrestrial perps from detonating the "Class 7 Ozone Demogrifier," a ship-based weapon capable of destroying the planet.
The gameplay is defined by its over-the-top arsenal of iconic MIB weaponry, including the J2 Blaster, the "Lazy Weasel" XD9, and the devastating DRG Fusion Cannon. Each weapon can be upgraded through multiple power-up levels to increase damage and fire rate as you battle through 20+ levels across five major episodes, such as the New York City docks, a nuclear plant, and an alien mothership. While the game was critiqued for its repetitive mission structure, it is remembered for its surprisingly smooth character animations and the ability to perform tactical rolls and 180-degree quick-turns to dodge alien fire.
