In Legend of the Dragon, the animated series of the same name comes to life as a 3D fighting game that blends martial arts with mystical transformations. Set in a world of ancient Chinese zodiac lore, the story follows twins Ang and Ling, who are caught in a struggle for the title of the Golden Dragon. While Ang becomes the guardian of light, Ling falls to the dark side, joining the villainous Zodiac Master as the Shadow Dragon.
The gameplay is defined by its "Transformation" mechanic, which draws comparisons to the Bloody Roar series. As you fight in human form, you build a spiritual energy meter that allows you to "morph" into a powerful guardian clad in mystical armor. On the Wii, the game utilizes motion controls for its Super Attacks; instead of traditional button combos, you must perform specific gestures—like drumming the Wii Remote and Nunchuck or making precise strokes—to trigger cinematic finishing moves. The game also features a Quest Mode where you navigate a board-game style map of China, completing challenges and defending the 12 Sacred Temples.
