Pikmin 2 is a real-time strategy adventure game for the Wii that expands on the exploration-focused gameplay of the original Pikmin. Developed by Nintendo, the game follows Captain Olimar and his partner Louie as they return to an alien planet to recover valuable treasure and pay off a company debt.
Gameplay centers on commanding groups of Pikmin, small plant-like creatures that each possess unique abilities. Players direct different Pikmin types to carry objects, battle enemies, and solve environmental puzzles. Strategic multitasking is essential, as managing multiple Pikmin squads efficiently determines success during exploration and combat.
A major addition in Pikmin 2 is the introduction of caves, which offer procedurally arranged underground areas filled with hazards, enemies, and valuable items.
